PSALM 26

What a tightly written statement about the nature of God and humankind's appropriate response! David proclaims God's attributes as unending love and faithfulness. Then  David lays out a lifestyle that befits someone who is loved in such a way... we will stand up against evil, worship regularly with other believers, proclaim aloud praises to God, and give to others an eyewitness account of the ways God is working in our life.

Lastly David expresses his deep humility "My feet stand on level ground; in the great assembly I will praise the Lord." As king, David could demand special treatment in the assembly of worshipers... but instead he takes equal footing with all others when coming to praise the Lord Almighty. We all should follow David's example... Humility,  joyful worship, fearless standing against evil, integrity, and loyalty to God... Yes we could all use an extreme lifestyle makeover.

As faithful as the sunset is each night, our God remains steadfast to us.
