John 15:1-17 GOT ANY FRUIT?

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me." We are so prone to wander away from the very thing that brings life! A day or two without touching base with Christ...a few Sundays turn into months away from the Word and Sacraments...we make excuses for our laziness...blame others for our absence from God.  The above words of Jesus are a vivid description as to the end result of our wandering. I saw this palm branch on a  St Croix  beach, and immediately thought of this passage in John.
