John 11:45-57

The Jewish chief priests and Pharisees called a meeting of Israel's legal body, the Sanhedrin. They were beyond alarmed at the popularity of Jesus, especially after he raised Lazarus from the dead. Their attempts to outwit and discredit Jesus had totally failed. The only option available to them was to arrange for his arrest, conviction and execution. As they steamed and plotted, running here and there, consumed with the where, how, who and when of thier plotting, Jesus' only concern was the "why" ...why was he facing his death? ...to offer forgiveness to all who would accept his gift.
