THE LAST WEEK: JOHN 11:1-16

This first day of March begins a new blog series leading up to Easter Sunday. Today's passage from John's Gospel, finds Jesus' friends, Mary and her sister, Martha in great distress. Their brother Lazarus has fallen gravely ill . They send for Jesus to come, but he purposely delays responding to the request. It appears Jesus knew that Lazarus would die before he could be there to heal him. Imagine the sisters' grief when Jesus did not arrive to prevent Lazarus's death...
