Several years ago I visited this church in Thessaloniki, Greece. Paul wrote about these Christians, "you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit." Well something has gone very sour in the last 2,000 years! Two older women sat in the back of the sanctuary in "their special chairs". They never smiled but were quite clear as they barked orders to everyone who entered the worship area.... each pronouncement started the same, "Don't ...". Indeed there was no joy to be find anywhere. What's your experience with Christians? Joyful or sour?
