What is keeping you from a life that is filled with healing grace? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." God knows the way...well in fact Christ is the way! Shift your focus away from the obstacles and God will lead you to the stairs!
On Saturday, Orlando Presbyterian Church sent 10 people off to "Do Good Farm" to assist in establishing a sustainable farm of fish and plants all using the same recycled water. It will revolutionize the way poor countries provide food for families. Here are the Grays, Valerie and Jim {who is in his 90's} lending joyful hearts and helpful hands.
During lent Orlando Presbyterian Church is exploring the God's design for the Tabernacle, a place of worship for the Jews while they were in the desert. In fact this "meeting tent" lasted for over 400 years... being the place of worship even after they settled in Israel. The Tabernacle and it's courtyard foreshadows the work and person of Jesus Christ . Here are a few of our explorers as they "dressed" for the occasion!
Here is a shout out to friend Kathy Busch! Look how happy Gabe is with her visit to us several years ago! {Continued prayers to Christ for her "Paul's" healing... }
Facebook has a new fad of posting old photos on Thursdays...its called Throw Back Thursdays or TBT! Here is my Mother and Father with their youngest grandson. And yes that would be JPJ! Isn't he adorable! And so very adored!
Here is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone River... think about the power of wind and water that carved out such depth and beauty!...God "is able to do immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." What can God's power do in you and through you today?
This morning someone asked the meaning of a scripture passage. I answered "I don't know". {It was about Paul's teaching on the "coming ages" in Ephesians.} Everyone in the Bible Study breathed easy, with the thought that there is still mystery in God's purposes for the universe. On many issues we look "through a mirror darkly" ... we just don't have all the answers. I was sitting in the car waiting for Ellie to return {on one of our many adventures} and the rain was coming down and sideways in sheets! I grabbed the camera and shot a storefront through the windshield. Even in mystery when the lines are blurred, there is beauty!
I spend time dreaming up commentary on my photos. Now it is your turn to place a caption on this photo! Email me your comments at roamingretiredrev12@gmail.com
Every Thursday on Facebook, people post old photos as a way to look back ... so here is my mother and grandson Peter giving her a little help. Not sure who is having the most fun!
Driving west through southern South Dakota, you cannot miss the "Wall Drug" advertisement signs! Every few miles a new one pops up to remind travelers to stop at this unusual drug store. I wonder what people see in us as they travel through their week? Do they see genuine reflections of our Creator and Redeemer in us? Would they stop and check out what Christ has to offer them?
In 2010Ellie and I headed out west to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. While staying at Jenny Lake Lodge, we spotted this bear strolling outside our cabins. Ellie is driving the chase car and I am hanging out the car window with my camera and saying, "Get closer!" Her response was, "Get back in the car!" Oh thank God for fun and adventure with a good friend!
